Abstract

Pengembangan teknologi pada kebun sayuran di Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) perlu dilakukan untuk peningkatan efisiensi terutama dalam hal pemeliharaan tanaman. Penyiraman dan pemupukan tanaman secara manual dapat dilakuan tetapi akan menguras tenaga dan waktu. Penerapan teknologi drip-fertigasi diharapkan mampu meningkatkan efisiensi dalam pemeliharaan tanaman di kebun. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kepada mitra mengenai pemeliharaan kebun sayuran menggunakan teknologi drip-fertigasi. Teknologi drip-fertigasi mampu menjadi solusi bagi permasalahan yang dialami mitra dalam hal penyiraman dan pemupukan tanaman sayuran di kebun. Drip-fertigasi meningkatkan efisiensi penggunaan air dan pupuk dalam mengatasi dampak negatif perubahan iklim (kekeringan). Teknologi penyiraman dan pemupukan yang baik diharapkan meningkatkan produksi dan kualitas tanaman sayuran di kebun-kebun KWT. Tujuan lain, agar ibu-ibu anggota KWT semakin bersemangat dan bergairah dalam melakukan kegiatan budidaya sayuran karena adanya teknologi penyiraman dan pemupukan secara bersamaan (fertigasi) yang meringankan beban kerja, menghemat waktu, dan biaya. Kegiatan ini membekali mitra dengan keterampilan budidaya tanaman sayuran, diperkenalkan dengan teknologi drip-fertigasi, dan mendapatkan pengetahuan, wawasa serta keterampilan mengenai penyiraman dan pemupukan yang baik. Kegiatan ini berlangsung selama 6 bulan di lokasi mitra, yaitu di KWT BATUA RAYA VIII di Kelurahan Paropo, Kecamatan Panakukang, Kota Makassar. Luaran dari kegiatan ini berupa peningkatan pengetatahuan dan keterampilan tentang budidaya sayuran berbasis drip-fertigasi, teknologi tepat guna berupa instalasi drip-fertigasi yang dapat digunakan oleh mitra,  dan tersebarnya pengetahuan dan informasi terkait kegiatan ini di media massa dan online.

ABSTRACT

Technology development in vegetable gardens in women farmer groups (KWT) needs to be done to increase efficiency, especially in terms of plant maintenance. Manual watering and fertilizing of plants can be done but it will drain energy and time. The application of drip-fertigation technology is expected to increase efficiency in plant maintenance in the garden.  This community service activity aims to provide knowledge and skills to partners regarding the maintenance of vegetable gardens using drip-fertigation technology. Drip-fertigation technology can be a solution to the problems experienced by partners in terms of watering and fertilizing vegetable plants in the garden. Drip-fertigation increases the efficiency of water and fertilizer use in overcoming the negative impacts of climate change (drought). Good watering and fertilization technology is expected to increase the production and quality of vegetable crops in KWT gardens. Another goal is to make the women members of KWT more enthusiastic and passionate in doing vegetable cultivation activities because of the technology of watering and fertilizing simultaneously (fertigation) which lightens the workload, saves time, and costs. This activity equipped partners with vegetable cultivation skills, introduced them to drip-fertigation technology, and gained knowledge, awareness and skills regarding proper watering and fertilization. This activity took place for 6 months at the partner location, namely at KWT BATUA RAYA VIII in Paropo Village, Panakukang District, Makassar City. The output of this activity is an increase in knowledge and skills about drip-fertigation-based vegetable cultivation, appropriate technology in the form of drip-fertigation installations that partners can use, and the spread of knowledge and information related to this activity in mass media and online.
