Abstract

This research aims to design a monitoring and control system for water particle levels, pH and light intensity in hydroponic cultivation. The system uses ESP32 as a microcontroller as well as 3 (three) pumps which function to distribute pH increasing, pH lowering and nutrient solutions. The pH increasing pump will be active if the SEN0161 sensor reads a pH value of less than 5.5, and the pH lowering pump will be active if the reading is more than 7.5. The nutrient pump will activate if the SEN0244 sensor reads nutrient levels of less than 750 ppm. Apart from that, to maintain the light intensity in the planting medium, grow LEDs are used which will be active if the light intensity around the planting medium is less than 150 lux. The test results from this research were that the designed system succeeded in increasing the growth of lettuce plants with an average plant height of 25.83cm. The three control parameters can be monitored via the offline control box and via the Blynk application in real time.
