Scientific discourse relies on objective facts rather than subjective opinions. Hence, it necessitates grounding in evidence derived from research, ensuring the arguments presented are objective and supported by factual findings. Generating scholarly information, even in a single sentence, is a laborious process, demanding considerable time, financial resources, and substantial energy. In some instances, continuous or multi-year research is imperative.

Nevertheless, technological advancements have revolutionized this landscape. Writing can now be expedited through the use of available artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, ranging from free versions to premium services. For example, Jenni AI functions akin to a "magical assistant," generating text on requested topics. ELICIT AI excels in grid synthesis, ResearchPal automates literature reviews, and others provide various functionalities. This poses a temptation to researchers, making AI a double-edged sword in the realm of publication integrity.
2024-02-27T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Indonesian Contemporary Nursing Journal (ICON Journal) https://journal.unhas.ac.id/index.php/icon/article/view/32716 Development of Virtual Journal Club for Nurses in Improving Evidence-based Practice 2024-01-15T04:50:02+00:00 Andi Fajrin Permana andi.permana@kcl.ac.uk
Undoubtedly, Evidence-based Practice (EBP) contributes to enhanced patient outcomes, with nurses being the largest healthcare provider group. Especially in cases of poor patient prognosis, treatment decisions are often influenced by colleagues' successful approaches. Journal clubs prove effective in various learning outcomes, including enhancing knowledge, critical appraisal skills, perceived reading habits, and reading behavior. Virtual Journal Clubs (vJCs) have greater potential to address time constraints, low participant attendance, and other minor obstacles compared to traditional face-to-face journal clubs. Nurses' impact on promoting evidence-based practice is consistent across aspects such as improved knowledge, critical appraisal skills, research utilization skills, interest in conducting research, and nursing skills.
2024-02-28T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Indonesian Contemporary Nursing Journal (ICON Journal) https://journal.unhas.ac.id/index.php/icon/article/view/33039 The Scapular’s Roles in Developing Shoulder Complex Function 2024-02-06T03:07:29+00:00 Rijal Rijal d09428003@ntu.edu.tw
The scapulohumeral anatomy and biomechanics interact to provide adequate mobility, thus the scapula plays various functions in facilitating optimal shoulder complex function (Paine & Voight., 2013). To support shoulder complex function, they argued that the scapula should have a solid foundation for glenohumeral movement facilitated by periscapular muscles to synchronize shoulder movements and develop scapulothoracic joint stability. However, when scapular muscle weakness or dysfunction occurs, then normal scapular posture and mechanics may change and disturb shoulder complex function, which can lead to lower neuromuscular performance and increased risk of glenohumeral joint damage (Kibler., 1998; Paine & Voight., 2013; Voight & Thomson., 2000). Therefore, current perspective will provide a more detailed description of the scapular roles in forming stabilization and supporting complex shoulder movements.
2024-02-28T00:00:00+00:00 Copyright (c) 2024 Indonesian Contemporary Nursing Journal (ICON Journal)
