Coordination of the head of district in administering government in Parigi, Parigi Moutong Regency, Central Sulawesi Province

This study aims to determine the coordination of head of district (Camat) in administering government in Parigi District, Parigi Mourong Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. The study used a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Taking informants by determining five people as informants. In order to obtain the data, we used Dann Sugandha’s theory about internal coordination and external coordination, and also used observation, interviews, and documentation in data collection methods. To maintain the objectivity of the study, we used the data analysis technique of Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The study reveals that internal coordination between the head of district and his subordinate staff in the form of providing reports, providing suggestions and proposals, providing instructions has been carried out well. External coordination was coordination carried out between the District Government and the government in the Parigi District area. External coordination between the district governments has not been implemented optimally because there remains weaknesses or lack of coordination in the administration of government between the district government and the government in the Parigi district area which has not been implemented well, so development has not been optimal.

The Impact of South Korean Gastrodiplomacy in Indonesia on the Development of Korean Food Business Opportunities in Indonesia

This article explores how South Korean gastrodiplomacy fosters Korean food business opportunities in Indonesia. Gastrodiplomacy, a soft diplomacy approach, uses cultural elements like cuisine to enhance bilateral relations and national image. South Korea has effectively leveraged the Korean Wave—a global phenomenon including music, drama, food, and lifestyle—to introduce its cuisine to international audiences, including Indonesia. The study outlines the historical and technological developments that spread Korean culture in Indonesia, leading to increased interest in Korean language, entertainment, and culinary experiences. Using qualitative methods like literature reviews and document analysis, it examines the impact of Korean culture on Indonesian society and the resulting business opportunities for Korean food. The article underscores the role of soft power in promoting cultural exchange and attracting Indonesian consumers to Korean cuisine. South Korean gastro diplomacy's success is evident in the rise of Korean restaurants and food stalls in Indonesia, catering to both Korean culture fans and the general public. However, challenges such as differing culinary preferences, limited access to authentic ingredients, cultural eating habits, pricing issues, and promotional strategies are identified as potential obstacles to expanding Korean food businesses in Indonesia. The study provides insights into how cultural diplomacy can create economic opportunities and enhance international cooperation by analyzing gastro diplomacy and its implementation through the Korean Wave. The findings suggest that strategic collaboration between the South Korean government and local stakeholders is essential to overcoming barriers and maximizing gastro diplomacy's benefits for both nations.

Analysis of local government supervision in surface mining: The case of Bulukumba Regency

Supervision is the prevention or correction of errors, irregularities, discrepancies, and misappropriations that are not in accordance with the objectives of the predetermined authority. This study aims to determine how the form of local government supervision in supervising rock quarry mines in Bontotiro District, Bukukumba Regency. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach, and the data collection used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data was analyzed through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. This study shows how local government supervision of rock quarry mines in the study area is seen from two forms of supervision. First, preventive supervision was carried out before the implementation of mining activities through the supervision of exploration Mining Business Permits (IUP) for exploration implementation and Mining Business Permits (IUP) for production operations. Second, repressive supervision carried out during the implementation of mining activities refers to the supervision of Rock Excavation Production Operation Activities.

The role of village-owned enterprises in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs) in Wajo Regency

Village Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) is a sustainable development effort that contains eighteen goals that touch all aspects of life, including village economic growth. Village-owned enterprises (BUMDes) are instruments used to improve economic development and village welfare. This study discusses how the role of BUMDes in achieving the 8th village SDGs goal, namely equitable village economic growth. This study aims to find out how the implementation and management of BUMDes in achieving Village SDGs and factors that influence the role of BUMDes in achieving the 8th Village SDGs goal in Gilireng District. The research type was descriptive qualitative, which collected data from observations, interviews, literature studies, and documentation studies. The study reveals that the contribution of BUMDes in increasing Village Original Income (PAD) has not been optimal, and BUMDes have not been able to provide job opportunities for rural communities. BUMDes in Gilireng District have not been able to encourage the achievement of Village SDGs because they were influenced by several factors: the human resources competency that remains limited and external conditions such as economic and political factors. However, BUMDes in Gilireng District has the potential and opportunity to become pillars of village economic development. Therefore, it is crucial for the relevant government to step in and improve the qualifications of BUMDes managers in the Gilireng District.

The role of local government in the empowerment of MSME actors in Palopo City

The micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) activities cover almost all business fields, and the existence of MSMEs is crucial, especially for increasing income for low-income groups. This study aims to find out how the government carries out its role as a facilitator, as a regulator, and as a catalyst on the eight indicators based on the Regional Regulations of Palopo City, especially in the development of MSMEs in Palopo City. The research type is qualitative research, which explains events that actually occurred in the field during the study. Informants were heads of cooperatives and MSMEs, heads of the UMKM sector, staff of the cooperatives and MSMEs office of Palopo City, and several MSME business actors. Data collection was carried out through direct field observations, interviews, and documentation with informants. The findings indicate that the government's role in empowering MSMEs was carried out by the Office of Cooperatives and MSMEs, and the government carried out its role as a facilitator, a regulator, and a catalyst. The government has a major influence in carrying out the empowerment, and it can help MSME actors maintain and improve their business by providing access to financing and capital, promotion, coaching, mentoring training, and growing the business climate. Finally, we will look at the condition of MSMEs, especially micro-type businesses that have grown densely in various areas in Palopo City.
