Abstract. Urban green open space, part of open space in urban areas, contains a variety of plants as ecological, social, cultural, economic and aesthetic support, not only to support the aesthetics of the city, but also to create a microclimate in the city area. The micro climate in urban areas around RTHKP is influenced by the presence of trees. Tree types and canopies are the main factors for the quality of the microclimate in Urban green open space. These trees are composed of various types of trees that can provide ecological services, such as wide canopy trees with low canopy portions. The canopy can form a good microclimate for urban areas. The quality of the tree canopy can be calculated the area and density of its cover, taking into account the area of shadows generated by the tree, and can be calculated mathematically using ENVI 4.5 software, to calculate the proportion of the canopy. The quality of the microclimate is known from measurements, temperature, air humidity, solar radiation, and wind speed. Temperature and humidity are measured using a digital thermo-hygrometer, solar power meters are used to measure solar radiation (watts / m2). Wind speed is measured using an anemometer, the tree canopy will provide maximum ecological benefits if it has created low humidity, minimal solar radiation, and the resulting wind gusts. Tree canopies can provide long-term benefits in the form of energy savings, reducing carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere, lowering the rate of global warming and improving air quality
