FROM SFIEU TO STIEU: TRADE UNION COLLECTIVE ACTION STRUGGLE IN SABAH, MALAYSIA

This paper explains the research finding related to the struggle of SFIEU to STIEU and its relationship to the idea of Virtual Paper and Employment Museum in Sabah. The idea based on the fact related to collective action as a potential medium to balance the power possessed by capitalists especially to advance the interests of workers.The dynamic nature of collective action and its development in the state of Sabah will be explained through the formation of the SFI virtual museum which is the struggle of workers from the Sabah Forest Industries Employee Union (SFIEU) to the Sabah Timber Industries Employee Union (STIEU) since the 1990s. This study was developed by applying the combinations of interview and content analysis approach by relating the development of unions to the attitude of capitalists and the influence of state government policies. Despite various assistance given to workers by the union at the national level, efforts to establish a union and subsequently obtain recognition could not be implemented until finally SFI had to be closed. This fact is an extraordinary phenomenon that proves that the state of Sabah holds various forms of social phenomenon that can be used as a lesson for future generations. Further research in various other fields needs to be done to assess its impact on the state's development problem which is relatively late compared to other states in Malaysia even though Sabah has a variety of valuable resources.

KETERPILIHAN ANDI MUHAMMAD RAMDHANI PADA PEMILIHAN LEGISLATIF KABUPATEN PINRANG TAHUN 2019

Democracy with a direct election system implemented in Indonesia has implications for increasingly tight competition for candidates in election contestation at every level of elections in Indonesia, including the election of legislators at the district/city level. This mechanism has an impact on the big role of the community, it is then important for the candidates who are contesting to make various possible efforts to maintain their election. The ongoing competition brings challenges to the ability of the candidates to maintain their electability which at the level of reality shows that not many candidates are able to maintain their electability. One of the political actors who was able to maintain his electability was Andi Muhammad Ramdhani, a member of the Pinrang Regency legislature who was able to maintain his electability for 3 periods of electing members of the legislature. This study then aims to further analyze the efforts made by Andi Muhammad Ramdhani to maintain his electability. To support this, this paper is supported by data obtained through qualitative research methods using primary data and secondary data. Based on the research conducted, it appears that Andi Muhammad Ramdhani was able to maintain his election for 3 periods because Andi Muhammad Ramdhani was able to take advantage of his social, economic and political capital in attracting public support and maintaining his constituents

Kebijakan Revitalisasi Pasar Terhadap Pendapatan Pedagang Pasar Rakyat Kota Pariaman

Market revitalization carried out by the government often brings polemics in society regarding the impact or potential impact that will result from the market revitalization carried out. The Pariaman City Government, West Sumatra Province has carried out market revitalization which is expected to have a positive impact on the level of welfare of the community, especially traders. In this regard, this research will examine further the impact of market revitalization carried out by the Pariaman City Government on the level of economic welfare and increasing traders' income. The data in this research shows that the market revitalization carried out basically does not have a significant impact on efforts to develop economic welfare and increase traders' income. However, the market revitalization carried out has brought comfort to service users, in this case traders and market visitors.

STRATEGI KANDIDAT MILENIAL DALAM UPAYA PEMENANGAN PEMILU LEGISLATIF 2019 DI KOTA MAKASSAR

Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan tentang keterlibatan generasi muda (kaum kilenial) pada kontestasi pemilihan anggota legislative Kota Makassar pada tahun 2019. Berdasarkan hasil pemilihan yang dilaksanakan terdapat beberapa kandidat terpilih yang berasal dari kaum milenial, salah satunya adalah H. Ray Suryadi yang merupakan kader partai Demokrat. Dalam pemilihan yang dilakukan H. ray Suryadi memperoleh 8.741 suara. Tulisan ini kemudian bertujuan untyk menjelaskan strategi yang dilakukan oleh H. Ray Suryadi untuk memenangkan pemilihan. Berdasarkan wawancara yang dilakukan maka Nampak bahwa terdapat hubungan patron-klien yang berkontribusi apda kemenangan H. Ray Suryadi dalam pemilihan anggota legislative 2019 di Kota Makassar. H. Ray Suryadi merupakan direktur dari perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang perkinanan. Sehingga jenis patron-klien yang terbangun adalah punggawa-sawi yang mana hubungan ini berasal dari ketergantungan ekonomi klien terhadap patronnya. Hubungan yang ada berimplikasi pada dukungan yang diperoleh oleh H. Ray Suryadi dalam pemilihan. Para nelayan yang menggantungkan hidupnya pada perusahaan H. Ray Suryadi kemudian secara sukarela membantu dalam proses sosialisasi.

Abstract: The first role of youth is to deepen their knowledge and return to the village to serve the community. The next role is to become a delegate and a leading representative in various competitions in community. The competition here should not be narrowly understood as ust a race. But how, the role of youth has reliable competitiveness in terms of quality and quantity. So that this village is taken into account by other communities and the government. The long-term target of this service is the birth of awareness and attitude of agents of change and controlling agents by village youth by preparing for the challenges of welcoming a change and the active role of youth is always expected, including in the development process in the village. The implementation of community service on the role of youth in the socio-economic development function of villages in Bone Regency, which was carried out to youth leaders of youth organizations, went well and smoothly. The program that has been implemented includes various activities. The conclusions of this activity are: (1) Participants were very enthusiastic in participating in this activity.
