Author Guidelines
The Aim of EPHMJ : The Environmental and Public Health Maritime Journal (EPHMJ) publishes original and high-quality research articles, literature reviews, and short reports in the field of environmental and public health, particularly in maritime and coastal regions. The journal is open access and free of charge for both submission and publication.
Manuscript Submission :
Authors must submit their manuscripts online by registering and logging in at https://journal.unhas.ac.id/index.php/ephmj. Click on "Make a Submission" and follow the five-step process. An authentication email will be sent; authors must verify their email before logging in. Please check your spam/junk folder if it doesn't appear in your inbox. Inquiries may be sent to the editorial board via email: ephmj2025@gmail.com.
Language: Manuscripts are accepted in English. Consistency in spelling (British or American) must be maintained throughout the document.
Manuscript Structure :
All manuscripts must follow the structure and layout below, typed in Garamond and formatted according to the journal’s template.

1. Tables and figures must be integrated within the text and labeled correctly.
2. Footnotes are not allowed; use endnotes if necessary.
3. Supplemental files are not accepted. You may include a link to external data if necessary.
Length of Manuscript :
The total word count (including references, tables, and figures) must be between 4,000 to 7,000 words. Meta-analyses may slightly exceed this limit but must be justified to the editor.
Formatting and Style :
1. se APA 7th Edition for citation and references.
2. In-text citations follow the author-date format.
3. Page numbers are mandatory for direct quotes.
4. References should be alphabetically ordered, justified, and unnumbered.

Refer to Vancouver style only if writing in Bahasa Indonesia as instructed in the provided EPHMJ template. When in doubt, default to APA 7 for English submissions and Vancouver for Indonesian ones.
Ethical Considerations:
1. Manuscripts must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere.
2. All submissions will be screened using Turnitin to detect plagiarism.
3. Manuscripts derived from theses/dissertations must include the institution’s name, date of submission, and supervisor details.
Previosly Distributed:
If the work has appeared in conference proceedings, institutional repositories, or blogs, it must be substantially revised. Authors must explain this in a note to the editor and cite the prior distribution in a footnote.
Referencing Software : Use reference managers such as Mendeley or AimNote for consistency and accuracy.
