The Hasanuddin Public Health Nutrition Journal (HPHNJ) recognizes that generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools may assist authors in improving the clarity and readability of manuscripts. However, their use must be limited and transparent.
Generative AI tools may be used only for language editing, such as improving grammar, spelling, or sentence clarity. These tools must not be used to generate scientific content, interpret data, formulate conclusions, or produce original research material. The intellectual and scientific contribution of the manuscript must originate from the authors.
If generative AI tools are used for language editing, authors should clearly disclose their use in the manuscript, for example in the acknowledgement section.
AI tools cannot be listed as authors, as they are unable to take responsibility for the content or integrity of a scholarly work.
Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the entire manuscript, including any text that has been edited using AI-assisted tools. The editorial team may request clarification regarding the use of AI tools if concerns arise during the editorial or peer review process.
Authors must complete the AI Use Declaration Form prior to submission. Please download the form here
