Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Introduction

Journal of Peace, Security and Democracy (JPSD) aims to disseminate unique scholarly content through a rigorous peer-review process, focusing on the expansive domain of Peace, Security and Demcoratization.  This encompasses the most up-to-date advancements in research, scholarly work.The editorial board of JPSD invites you to submit manuscripts for publication in this journal under the following guidelines.

Writing the Title, Author's Name, and Address

  • Manuscript Title: Written at the top of the first page with center text alignment.
  • Author's Name and Affiliation: The author's full name (without academic degrees) and affiliation address should be written with center text alignment below the article title.
  • Spacing: Provide a two-line space between the title and the author's name. The space between the author's affiliation address and the abstract title is one line.
  • Keywords: Written below the abstract in alphabetical order and separated by semicolons, with a maximum of three to five words.
  • Author's Name: The corresponding author’s name must be written first, followed by the second, third, and subsequent authors.

General Manuscript Guidelines

  • Original Manuscript: Must be an original research result that has not been published in other media or publishing houses.
  • Language: Manuscripts should be written in Indonesian or English with standard language.
  • Format: Manuscripts should be typed using Microsoft Word on A4-sized paper (210x297 mm) with margins of 25 mm (left), 20 mm (right), 20 mm (bottom), and 30 mm (top), in Book Antiqua font, 12pt font size, and single-spaced. (Follow the provided template)
  • Length: Between 6000-7000 words, including figures, tables, and references.
  • Plagiarism: Manuscripts must be free of plagiarism. The editorial team will reject manuscripts that indicate plagiarism.
  • Submission: Manuscripts must be submitted through the Online Submission System using Open Journal System (OJS) on the JPSD E-journal portal.
  • Subheadings: Subheadings in the discussion part (Introduction, Methods, Findings and Discussion, and Conclusion) should not be numbered. Subheadings should be written in bold and title case format.
  • Foreign Language: Words from foreign languages or uncommon terms should be italicized.

Manuscript Body Guidelines

  • Title: Should be informative, written briefly and clearly, without multiple interpretations, and should not contain uncommon abbreviations. It should be written in a maximum of 12 words, 14pt font size, bold, and center text alignment.
  • Abstract: Should be written within a maximum of 250 words and followed by three to five keywords arranged alphabetically. The abstract must contain research objectives, methods, results, conclusions, and limitations (optional).
  • Introduction: Should include a general background and a literature review as the basis for the new research question, main research problems, and research objectives.
  • Methods: Explains how the research was conducted, including research design, data collection, research instruments, and analytical methods.
  • Findings and Discussion: Presents the research results and discussion. The results should be supported by sufficient data.
  • Conclusion: The final part containing conclusions, limitations, and recommendations. Conclusions should answer the research hypothesis or questions.
  • References: All references used in the article must be listed in this section. References should be primarily from scientific journals (at least 80% of all references) and published in the last ten years. Each article should have at least ten references.

Citation and Reference Guidelines

  • Reference Management Applications: Use reference management applications such as Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero.
  • Writing Format: Follow the APA 6th Edition (American Psychological Association) format.

Online Submission Guidelines

  • Online Submission System: Manuscripts must be submitted through the Online Submission System on the JPSD E-journal portal.
  • Submission Steps: After registration is completed, log in as an author, click "New Submission". The article submission process consists of five stages: (1) Start, (2) Upload Submission, (3) Enter Metadata, (4) Upload Supplementary Files, (5) Confirmation.
  • Registration: Authors must register as authors or reviewers on the JAKPP portal.
