Peningkatan Nilai Tambah Produksi Perikanan Masyarakat Kelurahan Purirano Kota Kendari

Downstreaming marine fishery products serves as a crucial and urgent strategy to significantly increase value added and strengthen the competitiveness of local coastal commodities, which have historically been sold in raw form with low economic returns. This article aims to document efforts to enhance the human resource capacity of coastal communities in Purirano Village, Kendari City, utilizing the innovation of hygienic spiced frozen fish processing as a tangible implementation of the sustainable blue economy. The service activity was executed in a highly participatory manner, combining lectures, interactive discussions, and hands-on practice sessions involving 35 local residents and 15 KKN students. The training focused on specific seasoning techniques, standard packaging, and simple business management. Program effectiveness was rigorously evaluated using structured pre-test and post-test questionnaires to assess the increase in understanding, material relevance, and application motivation. Results indicated a significant increase in the understanding of modern downstreaming concepts and the adoption of simple yet high-impact processing technologies. The counseling materials proved highly relevant to community needs, fostering the readiness of participants to develop processed fish businesses with longer shelf lives. Beyond improving technical and entrepreneurial skills, this initiative strengthened synergistic collaboration between the community, local government, and universities. Ultimately, through community empowerment and appropriate technological innovation, this activity demonstrates that fishery product downstreaming plays a strategic role in increasing economic value, creating new jobs, and strengthening coastal socio-economic resilience in a transformational, inclusive, and sustainable manner.

Hilirisasi hasil perikanan laut merupakan strategi penting dan mendesak dalam upaya meningkatkan nilai tambah (value added) serta memperkuat daya saing produk perikanan lokal di kawasan pesisir yang selama ini mayoritas dijual dalam bentuk mentah. Artikel ini bertujuan mempublikasikan upaya peningkatan kapasitas sumber daya manusia masyarakat pesisir di Kelurahan Purirano, Kota Kendari, melalui inovasi pengolahan ikan beku berbumbu (frozen fish). Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan secara partisipatif menggunakan pendekatan ceramah, diskusi interaktif, dan praktik langsung yang melibatkan 35 orang peserta masyarakat dan 15 orang mahasiswa Universitas Halu Oleo yang sedang melaksanakan KKN. Fokus pelatihan mencakup teknik pembumbuan, pengemasan standar, hingga manajemen usaha sederhana. Evaluasi efektivitas program dilakukan melalui uji test (pre-test dan post-test) menggunakan kuesioner terstruktur. Evaluasi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan menilai peningkatan pemahaman, relevansi materi, serta motivasi penerapan pengetahuan di lapangan secara mandiri. Hasil kegiatan memperlihatkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman konsep hilirisasi modern dan penerapan teknologi pengolahan sederhana namun berdampak besar. Materi penyuluhan terbukti sangat relevan dengan kebutuhan masyarakat pesisir dan mampu menumbuhkan kesiapan mental peserta untuk mengembangkan usaha berbasis olahan ikan yang memiliki masa simpan lebih lama. Selain meningkatkan keterampilan teknis dan pengetahuan kewirausahaan, kegiatan ini juga memperkuat kolaborasi sinergis antara masyarakat, pemerintah daerah, dan perguruan tinggi sebagai aktor utama pembangunan ekonomi pesisir. Melalui pendekatan pemberdayaan masyarakat dan inovasi teknologi tepat guna, kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa hilirisasi produk perikanan berperan strategis dalam meningkatkan nilai ekonomi, menciptakan lapangan kerja baru, serta memperkokoh ketahanan sosial ekonomi masyarakat pesisir secara transformasional, inklusif, dan berkelanjutan.
