VOICE - VOLUME 1 ISSUE 1 2025
Vol. 1 No. 1 (2025)We are proud to present the inaugural edition of Voice — a journal dedicated to amplifying research that bridges the gap between vocational knowledge, community development, and real-world impact.
This first issue explores a diverse range of studies rooted in local wisdom, applied science, and community engagement. Each article, while distinct in focus, contributes to a shared vision: building healthier, more equitable, and resilient communities through vocational insight and innovation.
Our contributors examine urgent issues in aquaculture, such as the detection of Trichodina sp. in Nile tilapia cultivated in Tanjung Bunga Lake — a critical step in improving fish health and productivity. Similarly, the analysis of performance among livestock extension agents in Sinjai offers valuable input for enhancing agricultural outreach and services. From the agricultural fields of Bone, a gender-focused study investigates the distinct roles of men and women in cattle farming — illuminating the social fabric of rural livelihoods. Meanwhile, another article highlights the potential of menir (broken rice) as an innovative ingredient for food development, showing how traditional resources can drive modern solutions for food security.
The issue also delves into public health through a study on dental anxiety in children, providing insights into emotional well-being in medical care settings. Lastly, a policy-focused contribution on “smart taxation” offers strategies for managing overtourism through sustainable, locally informed governance.
Together, these articles reflect the interdisciplinary spirit of Voice: combining vocational excellence, equity, and local innovation to support community-centered solutions. We hope this first volume inspires future research and collaboration across sectors — all in the service of stronger, healthier, and more inclusive communities.
Best,
The Editorial Team
