FORMULASI DAN EVALUASI SEDIAAN EMULGEL TABIR SURYA KOMBINASI EKSTRAK DAUN KOPI ROBUSTA (Coffea canephora) DAN DAGING LIDAH BUAYA (Aloe vera L.)

Daun kopi robusta (Coffea canephora) mengandung senyawa metabolit sekunder antara lain flavonoid,
fenolik, tanin, alkaloid, steroid yang berpotensi sebagai antioksidan. Daging lidah buaya (Aloe vera L.) mampu
menghambat sinar UV A dan juga UV B serta mempertahankan kelembaban kulit, enzim bradikinase yang
dimiliki lidah buaya mampu menghentikan sunburn. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui
sediaan emulgel kombinasi ekstrak daun kopi robusta dan daging lidah buaya memiliki stabilitas fisik yang baik
dan mengetahui nilai Sun Protection Factor (SPF) sediaan.
Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian analitik. Sampel diekstraksi dengan metode maserasi menggunakan pelarut
etanol 96% dan diperoleh ekstrak kental sebanyak 128,5 gram. Ekstrak kental diformulasi dalam bentuk
sediaan emulgel pada konsentrasi ekstrak 0,5%, 1% dan 3% dan daging lidah buaya dengan konsentrasi 20%.
Selanjutnya dilakukan evaluasi fisik sediaan meliputi uji organoleptik, uji pH, uji homogenitas, uji daya sebar,
uji viskositas, uji tipe emulsi dan cycling test. Selanjutnya penentuan nilai SPF dilakukan dengan menggunakan
alat spektrofotometer. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan One-Way ANOVA.
Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sediaan emulgel memenuhi syarat evaluasi stabilitas fisik. Formulasi
sediaan emulgel ekstrak daun kopi robusta dengan konsentrasi 0,5% diperoleh nilai SPF 4,2 (Proteksi minimal),
konsentrasi 1% dengan nilai SPF 5,7 (Proteksi sedang), sedangkan konsentrasi ekstrak 3% dengan nilai SPF 9,1
(Proteksi ekstra).
