UJI TOKSISITAS AKUT EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN SEMBUKAN (Paederia Foetida L.) TERHADAP KADAR BLOOD UREA NITROGEN DAN KREATININ MENCIT (Mus Musculus)

Sembukan (Paederia foetida L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman yang digunakan untuk pengobatan. Namun
sebelum diolah menjadi bahan obat sangat penting untuk menguji keamanan daun sembukan. Penelitian ini
bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek toksik pemberian ekstrak etanol daun sembukan terhadap kreatinin dan
Blood Urea Nitrogen pada mencit. Mencit yang digunakan sebanyak 20 ekor yang dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok
yaitu kelompok I kontrol (aquades), dan 3 kelompok uji yang diberi ekstrak etanol daun sembukan dengan
dosis 500 mg/KgBB (kelompok II), 1000 mg/KgBB (kelompok III), dan 2000 mg/KgBB (kelompok IV) selama 14
hari lalu diukur kadar Blood Urea Nitrogen dan kreatinin. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar Blood Urea
Nitrogen dan kreatinin tertinggi terdapat pada kelompok IVdosis 2000 mg/KgBB yaitu sebesar 55.6 mg/L dan
Kreatinin 0.52 mg/L. Nilai ini masih termasuk dalam rentang kadar normal sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa
pemberian ekstrak etanol daun sembukan pada dosis 500 mg/KgBB, 1000 mg/KgBB dan 2000 mg/KgBB tidak
menyebabkan efek toksik pada ginjal mencit.
