Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

1. General Information

Jurnal IPTEKS PSP publishes original scientific articles in the fields of fisheries and marine sciences, including but not limited to:

• Fisheries resources management

• Fishing technology

• Aquaculture

• Fish processing technology

• Marine ecology

• Fisheries socio-economics

• Coastal and marine management

• GIS and remote sensing for fisheries and marine sciences

• Fisheries conservation and sustainability

Submitted manuscripts must be original, have not been published previously, and are not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

2. Types of Manuscripts The journal accepts:

• Original Research Articles

• Review Articles

• Short Communications

3. Manuscript Preparation Language Manuscripts should be written in English (US) using clear and academic language. File Format Manuscripts should be prepared in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx). General Format • Paper size: A4 • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides • Font: Ebrima, 11 pt • Line spacing: 1.5 • Text alignment: Justified • Page numbers should be included. • Line number should be included

4. Structure of Manuscript Title The title should be concise, informative, and reflect the main content of the manuscript. Author Information Include: • Full name(s) of author(s) • Affiliation(s) • Corresponding author email address Abstract The abstract should contain: • Background • Objectives • Methods • Main results • Conclusion Abstract should be written in one paragraph with a maximum of 250-300 words. Keywords Provide 3–6 keywords separated by semicolons.

5. Main Sections Introduction Explain the background, research problem, objectives, and relevant literature. Materials and Methods Describe materials, study area, data collection, and analytical methods clearly so the study can be replicated. Results and Discussion Present findings clearly and discuss their scientific significance. Results and discussion should be presented combined. Conclusion State the main findings and implications of the study. Acknowledgements Mention funding sources or individuals contributing to the study. References All references cited in the text must appear in the reference list and vice versa.

6. Tables and Figures Tables:

• Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively.

• Table titles should appear above the table.

• Avoid vertical line in the Table

• Table must be submitted as editable text, not as images

• Place table text to relevant text

Figures:

• Figure captions should appear below the figure.

• A caption should consist of a brief title (not displayed on the figure itself)

• Use high-quality figures and readable labels.

7. Citation and Reference Style Jurnal IPTEKS PSP uses APA Style (7th Edition). Examples:

Journal Article Rahman, A., & Yusuf, M. (2023). Tuna habitat distribution in eastern Indonesian waters. Journal of Fisheries Science, 15(2), 120–130.

Book King, M. (2013). Fisheries Biology, Assessment and Management. Wiley-Blackwell. Proceedings

Sudirman, A. (2021). Fishing ground mapping using remote sensing. In Proceedings of Marine Science Conference (pp. 55–60).

Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote.

8. Ethical Statement Authors must ensure that:

• The manuscript is original.

• Data presented are authentic.

• No plagiarism is involved.

• All authors have approved the manuscript submission.

The editorial board reserves the right to reject manuscripts with unethical publication practices.

9. Submission Process Manuscripts should be submitted electronically through the journal website: Jurnal IPTEKS PSP Submission System Authors must register before submitting manuscripts.

10. Peer Review Process All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process. The final decision regarding publication is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on reviewers’ recommendations.

11. Publication Fee Information regarding article processing charges (if any) will be informed through the journal website.
