Banyak faktor yang terkait dalam penilaian pembelajaran terhadap mahasiswa. Cara penilaian yang telah dikenal adalah penilaian acuan patokan dan penilaian acuan normatif, kemudian berkembang penilaian gabungan dari dua cara di atas dan terakhir muncul cara penilaian acuan normatif menggunakan passing grade.
