About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Jurnal Lanskap dan Lingkungan (JULIA) aims to disseminate information, provide contributions that address all aspects of research, evaluation and innovation related to landscape and environment. The scope of environmental studies is related to environmental conservation issues and the Landscape Scope concerns landscape planning, design, development and management. JULIA also accepts research method studies specific to the field of landscape architecture.

This journal accepts articles both in the form of research results and reports on planning, designing and managing landscapes and related environments.

Peer Review Process

Articles published in this journal have gone through a review process with following stages: Format review, content review and similarity check.

Format review takes 1-2 weeks after submission, articles that are not in accordance with the format will be returned to the author for improvement.

Content review takes 1 month with a decision of acceptance, revision or rejection.

Plagiarism checking takes 1-2 days, if the results are more than the maximum standard (30% total, 3% on the spot) it will be returned to the author for paraphrising.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Publication Ethics

The Department of Agronomy, Faculty of Agriculture, UNHAS publishes the Jurnal Lanskap dan Lingkungan (JULIA).  This journal is published two times a year online in June and December. 

This publication ethics regulates the parties involved in the publication process of the Jurnal Lanskap dan Lingkungan (JULIA) which includes managers, editors, reviewers, and authors. The publication ethics upholds three ethics in publications, namely (i) neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in the management of publications; (ii) fairness, which gives authorship rights to those entitled as authors; and (iii) honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism in publications.

Publisher Responsibility

  1. The publisher of the Jurnal Lanskap dan Lingkungan (JULIA) is the UNHAS Department of Agronomy, responsible for publishing articles that have gone through the editing, review, and layout process per the rules for publishing Scientific Journals.
  2. The publisher of Jurnal Lanskap dan Lingkungan (JULIA) is responsible for ensuring academic freedom for editors and reviewers in carrying out their duties and responsibilities.
  3. The publisher of Jurnal Lanskap dan Lingkungan (JULIA) is responsible for maintaining privacy and protecting intellectual property, copyright, and editorial freedom.

Editor Responsibilities

  1. The editor of Jurnal Lanskap dan Lingkungan (JULIA) is responsible for deciding which manuscripts are worthy of publication. The editor's decision is made through an editorial board meeting that refers to applicable legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism.
  2. In reviewing and accepting manuscripts, the editorial team of Jurnal Lanskap dan Lingkungan (JULIA) is based on the principle of equal treatment in making decisions to publish manuscripts by not distinguishing between race, gender, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political ideology of the author.
  3. The editors and editorial board of Jurnal Lanskap dan Lingkungan (JULIA) will not disclose any information about an incoming manuscript or manuscript without the author's permission.
  4. The editors of Jurnal Lanskap dan Lingkungan (JULIA) will not use unpublished manuscripts for their own interests and will be returned directly to the author.

Reviewer Responsibilities

  1. Reviewers of the Jurnal Lanskap dan Lingkungan (JULIA) assist editors in making editorial decisions on incoming manuscripts.
  2. Reviewers of the Jurnal Lanskap dan Lingkungan (JULIA) are responsible for the recommendations of the manuscripts they review.
  3. Manuscript reviews are carried out objectively and supported by clear arguments.
  4. Reviewers of the Jurnal Lanskap dan Lingkungan (JULIA) are responsible for quotations, references, duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism for the manuscripts they review.
  5. Reviewers of the Jurnal Lanskap dan Lingkungan (JULIA) must always maintain confidentiality and not use information from the manuscript they review for personal gain/interest.

Author Responsibilities

  1. The author must present the manuscript of his thoughts or research clearly, honestly, and without duplication, data fabrication, data falsification, and plagiarism.
  2. The author is responsible for the confirmation submitted on the manuscript that has been written.
  3. The author must make a reference to the opinions and works of others quoted.
  4. Authors must write the manuscript ethically, honestly, and responsibly, following applicable scientific writing regulations.

The author does not object if the manuscript undergoes editing in the review and layout process without changing the substance or central idea of the writing.
