PENGHAMBATAN AKTIVITAS α-GLUKOSIDASE OLEH EKSTRAK ETANOL, AIR, DAN SERBUK PARE

Diabetes militus (DM) masih menjadi penyakit yang menyebabkan masalah serius di Indonesia dan terus meningkat setiap tahunnya. Dibutuhkan obat yang dapat membantu penderita diabetes. Penelitian mengenai pencarian obat antidiabetes terus dilakukan salah satunya penggunaan bahan alam. Bahan alam yang mempunyai banyak manfaat salah satunya adalah tanaman pare. Untuk itu penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat aktivitas inhibisi terhadap α-glukosidase pada ekstrak etanol, air, dan serbuk buah pare. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan prinsip mengenai nilai IC50 yang menggambarkan besarnya konsentrasi yang dibutuhkan untuk menghambat 50% aktivitas enzim. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai IC50 tertinggi ada pada ekstrak etanol yaitu sebesar 31,1549 ppm. Kemudian ekstrak air 99,0729 ppm, dan 323,7915 ppm serbuk pare. Adapun sebagai pembanding digunakan akarbosa komersil dengan nilai IC50 sebesar 42,1871 ppm.
