NAWA: Journal of Japanese Studies is published by Department of Japanese Literature, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Hasanuddin University. This journal is published twice a year, in March and September.
Focus and Scope
This journal publishes research articles on Japanese Studies, including Japanese Linguistics and Education, History and Culture, and Literature. Its scope is international in that it welcomes articles from academics, researchers, and university students. The articles contribute to strengthening critical approaches, increasing the quality of critique, or encouraging innovative methodologies.
Current Issue

We are proud to present Nawa: Journal of Japanese Studies Volume 2 Issue 1, featuring six articles resulting from the research of scholars in the field of Japanese studies. In this edition, four articles come from Universitas Hasanuddin, one from Institute Prima Bangsa Cirebon, and another from Universitas Ngudi Waluyo. The articles included reflect the diversity of approaches in Japanese studies, with three focusing on literary issues and the other three exploring topics in Japanese linguistics. We hope this edition will make a meaningful contribution to the development of Japanese studies in Indonesia and serve as an inspiration for researchers and enthusiasts of Japanese studies across regions.
