Abstract

The Blooming School Program: Flourishing Without Violence aims to raise awareness about gender equality and prevent sexual violence in schools. This initiative aligns with one of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which targets achieving gender equality by 2030. However, as of 2024, Indonesia continues to face significant challenges in addressing gender inequality and sexual violence. According to Indonesia's Gender Inequality Index (GII) in 2020, a score of 0.40 indicates that gender inequality contributes to a 40% loss in human development. This program was designed to address these issues through an evidence-based educational approach. As part of the program's implementation, pre-tests and post-tests were conducted with 44 students from partner schools to evaluate the effectiveness of the educational materials provided. The results revealed a significant improvement in students' understanding of gender equality and sexual violence prevention, with average scores increasing from 61.5 in the pre-test to 81.5 in the post-test, reflecting a 20-point improvement. These findings confirm that this educational program effectively enhances students' awareness. Based on the program's success, it is recommended that gender equality materials be systematically integrated into school curricula. Additionally, organizing regular seminars and establishing Anti-Violence Task Forces in schools are strategic steps toward creating safer, more inclusive learning environments. With an integrated approach, this program is expected to make a significant contribution to achieving gender equality in Indonesia.
