Focus and Scope
Strategic Policy and Diplomacy Review (SPDR) is an open-access and bi-annual international peer-reviewed journal dedicated to advancing multi- and interdisciplinary theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented research in the field of political science, specifically in the sub-fields of international relations, international politics and security, strategic studies, international political economy, transnational society, international organisation, and international public policy, negotiation, and diplomacy.
The journal serves as an interdisciplinary platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, diplomats, policymakers, and leaders to engage in critical, robust analysis and discussion of past, contemporary, and future discourse and issues related to strategic policy and diplomacy, interlinking local, national, regional, and global-level dynamics.
SPDR publishes original research articles, policy analyses, review essays, and scholarly commentaries that contribute to the understanding of how states and sub-states, international organisations, transnational networks, and other non-state actors craft strategic policies and conduct diplomacy to address complex political, economic, defence and security, technological, and societal issues.
The journal welcomes contributions from diverse theoretical, methodological, and disciplinary perspectives, particularly those that bridge academic inquiry with practical policy and diplomatic implications.
