Plagiarism Check
Journal of Applied Oral Health and Dental Therapy (JAOHDT) upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and applies a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism. All manuscripts submitted to the journal are screened using plagiarism detection software (Turnitin) to assess the level of text similarity. The similarity report is reviewed by the editor and shared with the authors.
Based on the similarity index, the Editorial Board applies the following decisions:
-
Similarity index above 60%
Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 60% will be rejected outright. This level of similarity indicates serious issues related to improper citation practices and/or inadequate paraphrasing. Manuscripts rejected under this category are not eligible for resubmission. -
Similarity index between 31% and 60%
Manuscripts with a similarity index within this range will be returned to the authors for revision. Authors are required to correct all overlapping content by providing accurate citations and applying proper paraphrasing, even when references have already been cited. -
Similarity index of 30% or below (≤ 30%)
Manuscripts with a similarity index of 30% or below may be accepted, although minor revisions related to citation accuracy, source clarity, or paraphrasing quality may still be requested by the editor.
For manuscripts requiring revision, authors must carefully revise the manuscript and resubmit it along with a new Turnitin similarity report demonstrating compliance with the journal’s similarity threshold.
