Corrections and Retractions

1. General Provisions
________________________________________
The *Journal of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computation* maintains stakeholder trust by implementing policies regarding the correction and retraction of articles reporting on community service activities. This policy is adopted based on the *Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing* established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) to ensure the integrity of scholarly publications.
2. Policy Objectives
________________________________________
This policy is established with the aim of:
1.    Addressing errors or ethical breaches in published articles reporting on community service activities.
2.    Providing transparent information to readers regarding changes to or retractions of articles.
3.    Ensuring the integrity of the community service literature through fair, accurate, and accountable procedures.
Article Corrections
________________________________________
Definition
Corrections are made to address errors in an article that do not affect the substance or primary results of the reported community service activity.
Types of Corrections
1.    Erratum: A correction for an error made by the publisher, such as a misspelling, an error in author names or affiliations, or formatting errors.
2.    Corrigendum: A correction for an error made by the author, such as errors in non-critical data or descriptions of activities that do not affect the conclusions.
Correction Procedure
1.    Authors, readers, or editors report errors, providing clear evidence via the editorial team's official email.
2.    The editorial team verifies the report and consults with the author to confirm the error.
3.    If a correction is required, the editorial team publishes a Correction Notice in the subsequent issue and links it to the original article.
Implementation of Corrections
Corrections are clearly marked on the journal website and within the original article's PDF file, including a description of the changes made. 3. Article Retractions
________________________________________
Definition
Retraction is undertaken to address serious violations, such as breaches of publication ethics, reporting of activities that were not actually performed, or significant errors affecting the validity of the community service activity's outcomes.
Grounds for Retraction
Retraction may be initiated on the following grounds:
1.    Plagiarism or duplicate publication.
2.    Reporting of community service activities that are factually incorrect or were never performed.
3.    Manipulation of activity report data.
4.    Violation of copyright or the privacy of parties involved in the community service activity.
5.    Ethical violations, such as conducting community service activities without the consent of the target community or including authors without their permission.
Retraction Procedure
1.    Reporting
Violations may be reported by readers, authors, or institutions via the official JMSK journal email.
2.    Investigation
The editorial team will form an investigation team comprising editors, reviewers, and—if necessary—external experts or relevant third parties.
3.    Author's Right of Reply
Authors are given the opportunity to provide a written clarification regarding the report.
4.    Decision
Based on the investigation findings, the Editor-in-Chief will decide whether the article requires retraction.
5.    Communication with the Author's Institution
In cases of serious violations, the author's affiliated institution or the agency implementing the community service activity will be notified.
Implementation of Retraction
1.    Retracted articles will remain available on the journal's website but will be clearly marked as "Retracted."
2.    The retraction notice will include:
• Article title.
• Author names.
• Reason for retraction (plagiarism, data manipulation, etc.).
• Date of retraction. 4. Article Replacement
________________________________________
If a retracted article contains important information regarding the methods or results of the community service activity, the author(s) may submit a replacement article. The replacement article must undergo the review process just like a new article and will be published with a note indicating that it replaces the previous article.
5. Reporting and Complaint Mechanism
________________________________________
1.    Readers, authors, or other parties who discover errors or violations may report them via the JMSK email.
2.    All reports will be processed with strict confidentiality and without conflicts of interest.
6. Communication and Transparency
________________________________________
1.    All corrections and retractions will be announced in a dedicated section of the journal's website and in the latest issue of the journal.
2.    The correction and retraction processes will be thoroughly documented to ensure transparency.
