Zona Laut: Journal of Ocean Science and Technology Innovation is an international peer-reviewed, open-access journal published by the Department of Ocean Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, Indonesia. The journal advances scientific knowledge and technological innovation related to oceans and marine environments, with emphasis on ocean science, marine technology, environmental sustainability, and sustainable ocean innovation.

The journal welcomes original and interdisciplinary research addressing Ocean Science and Observation, Marine Technology and Intelligent Systems, Marine Environment and Coastal Sustainability, and Sustainable Ocean Science and Technology Innovation. Zona Laut particularly encourages research that contributes to sustainable oceans through scientific understanding, emerging technologies, environmental solutions, and innovative marine applications.

Zona Laut: Journal of Ocean Science and Technology Innovation hereby informs authors that, as part of the journal's internationalization and quality improvement strategy, all manuscripts submitted from November 2026 onward must be written entirely in English.

Effective period: Submissions received from November 2026 onward
Publication language: English only

Manuscripts submitted in Indonesian from this period onward will not proceed to the editorial review process and may be returned to the authors for language adjustment before resubmission.

This policy applies to the complete manuscript, including the title, abstract, keywords, main text, figures and table captions, acknowledgements, and other relevant sections. Authors are expected to ensure that manuscripts are written in clear and academically appropriate English before submission.

This policy is intended to improve the international accessibility, visibility, and scholarly impact of articles published in Zona Laut.
