Author Guideline

Author Guidelines

Authors should submit only papers that have been carefully proofread and polished. Manuscripts are accepted with the understanding that they are the original or extended version of previously published papers in conferences and/or journals and that, if the work received an official sponsorship, it has been duly released for open publication.

Before submission please make sure that your paper is prepared using the journal paper template. The authors must refer to the Journal of Integrated Economic and Community Partnerships (JIECoP) template for writing format and style.

Carefully read the submission guidelines as follows:

1. General Requirements

The minimum standard requirements of JIECoP must be:

  • Written in English.

  • The length of the submitted paper is generally 10 to 15 pages (approx. 4,000–7,000 words). Editors will evaluate if the papers need significantly more pages.

  • Use of a tool such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote for reference management and formatting.

  • Make sure that your paper is prepared using the JIECoP template (MS Word).

2. Structure of The Manuscript

The manuscript must be prepared and suggested present follow the structure:

Title The title should be concise and clearly defined to help global readers understand the essence of the community service or engagement work. Maximum 15 words, without Acronym or abbreviation.

Abstract The Abstract has 150 to 250 WORDSJIECoP recommends a structured abstract that includes: 1) Purpose, 2) Design or Methodology or Approach, 3) Findings, and 4) Originality or Value.

Section Structure Authors are suggested to present their articles in the section structure based on the template:

  • Introduction

    • Context: Establish the urgency of the community engagement. Describe the Situational Analysis of the partner/community.

    • The Problem: Clearly state the partner's main problems or needs that this activity addresses.

    • The Solution: Outline the proposed solution and the rationale behind it. Ensure it is explicitly linked to the Indonesian context or comparable settings where relevant.

  • Literature Review

    • This section should demonstrate strong engagement with relevant scholarship to justify the chosen intervention method.

    • Synthesize prior studies or community service reports to build a clear foundation for the program.

  • Method of Implementation

    • Describe the implementation design with sufficient clarity for replication.

    • Detail the Time and Location of the activity.

    • Describe the Participants/Partners profile (target audience).

    • Explain the stages of the activity (e.g., preparation, execution, monitoring/evaluation). Note: Mathematical equations are rarely used unless necessary for economic analysis of the partner.

  • Results

    • Results should be presented in a clear and logical order, aligned with the activity objectives.

    • Focus on the Output (product/system produced) and Outcome (change in knowledge, skill, or economic condition of the partner).

    • Tables and figures should be used effectively to show data (e.g., pre-test/post-test scores, production capacity increase).

  • Discussion

    • Interpret the findings in relation to the initial problems and relevant literature.

    • Explain how the program successfully empowered the community or solved the partner's problem.

    • Articulate key implications for policy, community development theory, or best practices in service.

  • Conclusion

    • Summarise the key impacts and their significance.

    • State the main contributions to community empowerment, acknowledge limitations, and propose sustainability plans or future activities.

  • References

    • All references must be complete and accurate and follow APA (7th edition) Style consistently.

    • Where available, include DOIs to facilitate access to cited sources.

    • Expect a minimum of 15-20 references, primarily from journal articles published in the last 5–10 years.

Corresponding Author One author should be designated as the corresponding author and provide the following information:

  • E-mail address

  • Full postal address

Figures and Tables Because tables and figures supplement the text, all tables and figures should be referenced in the text.

  • Figures:

    • a. All figures (photos of activity, diagrams, charts) must be numbered in the order they appear.

    • b. Each figure must have a caption fully explaining the content.

    • c. Figure captions appear below the figure.

    • d. High-quality images (min. 300 dpi) are recommended to visualize the community engagement process.

  • Tables:

    • a. Material that is tabular in nature must appear in a numbered captioned table.

    • b. Table captions appear above the table.

    • c. Use horizontal lines only (no vertical lines) for the table body.

    • d. Sources and Notes should be placed immediately below the table.

Language The manuscript must be written in good academic English. Authors are strongly advised to proofread their article(s) before submission to ensure grammatical accuracy and readability.

Please note that any papers which fail to meet our requirements will be returned to the author for amendment. Only papers that are submitted in the correct style will be considered by the Editors.

Authors who publish with Journal of Integrated Economic and Community Partnerships (JIECoP) agree to the following terms:

  1. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) that allows others to share the work with an acknowledgment of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.

  2. Authors are able to enter into separate, additional contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of the journal's published version of the work (e.g., post it to an institutional repository or publish it in a book), with an acknowledgment of its initial publication in this journal.
