Edukasi Gizi dan Pemeriksaan Komposisi Tubuh Menggunakan BIA dalam Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat di CFD Space Park Universitas Hasanuddin

This community service activity aimed to enhance public awareness and understanding of nutritional status and body composition through evidence-based nutrition education and direct assessment using Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). The event was conducted on April 20, 2025, at the Car Free Day (CFD) area in Space Park, Universitas Hasanuddin, Makassar, organized by the Clinical Nutrition Specialist Program, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Hasanuddin, in collaboration with the Indonesian Clinical Nutritionist Association (PDGKI) South Sulawesi branch. The methods included socialization, anthropometric measurements, body composition analysis using BIA, and interactive nutrition education and consultation sessions conducted by lecturers and residents. Participants, including the general public, university students, and healthcare workers, showed high levels of engagement and enthusiasm. The results indicated diverse nutritional statuses, with several participants having elevated Body Mass Index (BMI) and body fat percentages. Based on these findings, individualized nutrition counseling was provided, focusing on energy balance, adequate protein intake, and the role of physical activity in maintaining muscle mass. This contextual and personalized education successfully increased participants’ awareness of balanced diets and active lifestyles. The use of BIA proved to be an effective, non-invasive, and practical method for assessing body composition at the community level. This program is recommended to be implemented regularly as a promotive and preventive effort to improve nutritional literacy and support the development of a healthier and more productive society.

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman masyarakat mengenai pentingnya status gizi dan komposisi tubuh melalui edukasi gizi berbasis bukti serta pemeriksaan langsung menggunakan Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA). Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 20 April 2025 di area Car Free Day (CFD) Space Park Universitas Hasanuddin, Makassar, oleh tim Program Studi Spesialis Ilmu Gizi Klinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Hasanuddin bekerja sama dengan Perhimpunan Dokter Spesialis Gizi Klinik Indonesia (PDGKI) Sulawesi Selatan. Metode kegiatan meliputi sosialisasi, pemeriksaan antropometri, analisis komposisi tubuh menggunakan BIA, serta edukasi dan konsultasi gizi secara langsung oleh dosen dan residen. Peserta yang terdiri atas masyarakat umum, mahasiswa, dan tenaga kesehatan menunjukkan partisipasi aktif dan antusiasme tinggi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan variasi status gizi dengan beberapa peserta memiliki Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) di atas normal serta persentase lemak tubuh yang tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, tim pelaksana memberikan edukasi personal tentang keseimbangan energi, pentingnya asupan protein, serta peran aktivitas fisik dalam mempertahankan massa otot. Edukasi kontekstual ini terbukti meningkatkan kesadaran peserta mengenai pentingnya pola makan seimbang dan gaya hidup aktif. Penggunaan BIA dinilai efektif, non-invasif, dan mudah diterapkan di masyarakat. Kegiatan ini direkomendasikan untuk dilaksanakan secara berkala sebagai upaya promotif dan preventif dalam meningkatkan literasi gizi serta mendukung tercapainya masyarakat yang sehat dan produktif.
