Jurnal Gizi Masyarakat Indonesia (The Journal of Indonesian Community Nutrition) is committed to maintaining the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of the scholarly record. The Editorial Board follows the guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern.
Corrections are published when an error is identified that affects the accuracy of the published information but does not invalidate the overall scientific integrity or conclusions of the research.
Errata (Publisher/Editorial Errors):
An Erratum is issued when errors are introduced during the production or layout process by the editorial or publishing team (e.g., typesetting errors, formatting mistakes, or omission of figures/tables after author proofreading).
Corrigenda (Author Errors):
A Corrigendum is issued when authors detect minor errors in their published article that do not change the core findings or scientific conclusions (e.g., minor data typographical errors, author affiliation corrections, or omission of an acknowledgment).
Process for Correction:
A formal correction notice will be published as a separate document linked to the original article.
The original article PDF and web page will remain accessible, updated with a clear footnote or notice referencing the correction.
An article may be retracted to correct the scientific record if there is conclusive evidence that the published findings are unreliable or unethical. Retractions are not intended as a personal punishment for authors, but rather as a mechanism to protect the integrity of scientific literature.
Grounds for Retraction include:
Clear evidence that the research findings are unreliable due to major error (e.g., miscalculation or experimental error) or fabrication/falsification of data.
Severe plagiarism, duplicate publication, or unauthorized use of data without permission.
Serious breaches of publication ethics or research integrity (e.g., unethical research involving human subjects without ethical clearance).
Undisclosed conflicts of interest that significantly influence the interpretation or recommendations of the research.
Retraction Process:
A formal Retraction Notice will be published in the current issue and clearly linked to the retracted article.
The original article will not be removed from the online repository to maintain the historical scholarly record. However, the online PDF and HTML versions will be clearly watermarked with the word "RETRACTED" on every page.
The retraction notice will clearly state the identity of the person(s) retracting the article and the detailed reasons for the retraction.
The Editor-in-Chief may issue an Expression of Concern if:
There are serious allegations of research or publication misconduct involving a published article, but an investigation is ongoing or inconclusive.
The authors' institution refuses to investigate an alleged misconduct, or the investigation appears impartial or unreasonably delayed.
An Expression of Concern will be replaced by a formal Retraction Notice or Exoneration Notice once a conclusive investigation outcome is reached.
In extremely rare circumstances, an article may be completely removed from the online database. This action is reserved strictly for cases where:
The article contains content that is defamatory, violates legal privacy rights, or infringes upon intellectual property/copyright laws.
A formal court order or legal injunction demands the removal of the article.
The article contains inaccurate instructions or data that pose an immediate and severe health risk or safety hazard to the public if acted upon.
When an article is removed, the title and author names will remain in the database accompanied by a formal note stating that the article has been removed for legal or safety reasons.
